AIMS:

The library in liaison with subject teachers works towards achieving the following aims:

To support the delivery of the curriculum throughout the school.

To provide a challenging, yet supportive environment to stimulate, maintain and develop, a lively enquiring mind.

To enable pupils to be familiar with a body of knowledge and Information retrieval skills applicable to a wide range of sources including books, CD ROMS and the World Wide Web

To support teaching methods and to provide resources that allow all pupils (irrespective of their ethnic origin or academic ability) to have equal access to a wider body of knowledge and skills and to experience success and enjoyment in their work.

To foster and encourage the enjoyment of reading as a leisure activity.
