Mission Statement

Ethos
The mathematics department strives to enhance the catholic ethos of the school by using the mission statement as the foundation for its work.  Each pupil is viewed as an individual with particular needs and the schemes of work are designed to provide stimulating and challenging tasks for all. The importance of community spirit within each class is emphasized as is sensitivity towards peers.  The pupils in our care should feel secure, respected and valued and be assured that effort is regarded as highly as academic achievement.  A truly successful pupil is one who has attained the highest academic standard that her ability allows whilst always working with honesty, integrity and a regards for Christian values.

 Aims

  • To create a sensitively disciplined, stimulation and happy environment.

  • To present clearly defined goals which, while being challenging, are attainable;  in some measure; by all.

  • To ensure that all pupils understand why such goals are important.

  • To enhance each pupils’ motivation to learn.
