This is a popular option. The AQA 3561 course is followed. 5 lessons are allocated per fortnight.

Visits are made to local primary schools.

An essential part of the course is a child study. This is completed over a six month period and involves visiting and observing a child on seven occasions. The purpose of these observations is to predict, observe and evaluation the development of the child.

We have frequent young visitors to the department, babies and children for pupils to observe.
